Izurtza is the smallest municipality in Durangaldea. It is located very close to the entrance to the Urkiola Nature Reserve, on the slopes of Mounts Mugarra and Untzillatx and on the banks of the River Mañaria. The municipality has many house-towers and farmhouses scattered around the spectacular mountain landscape.
The Izurtza pelota court is one of the longest in Bizkaia. After playing a game of pelota or taking a walk in the surrounding mountains, why not enjoy a delicious lunch in the bar located next to the court?
