2 and a half hours
The Arrazola cycling and walking trail runs along the route of the old railway line that used to link Durango and Arrazola.
Starting in Apatamonasterio, it finishes at a place known as Tope or Errotabarri. Along the way, it passes through the Martzaa and Xantixa neighbourhoods, offering wonderful views of the many stone farmhouses and wide open fields.
A tranquil walk
The Arrazola cycling and walking trail is ideal for a family outing. Surrounded by rural areas, with the imposing presence of Mounts Alluitz, Larrano and Anboto in the distance, this trail is guaranteed to delight and surprise.
There are many picnic areas, children’s playgrounds, bars and restaurants on the way. The trail ends at a mining area known as Tope, from where the path up to the top of Anboto from Arrazola begins.
The oldest farmhouse in Bizkaia
Along the way, you will pass by one of the oldest farmhouses in Bizkaia. The date 1509 is etched into the wall.
